Terms of Use

The rules for using autolayoutai.com, the GREP Library and GREP Batch Processor. Last updated: October 9, 2026.

Who runs the site

AutoLayoutAI is run by Marko Markovic, 5mediadesign ("we"). By using the site you agree to these terms. Questions: legal@autolayoutai.com.

Using the site and the script

The site, the GREP Library and GREP Batch Processor are free. The script is covered by its own license and disclaimer in the documentation: in short, you may use it for any purpose, personal or commercial, and share it, but you may not sell it, remove the credits or pass off a modified version as the original. It comes without any warranty.

GREP Batch Processor is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe. InDesign is a trademark of Adobe.

Your account

You sign in with a link sent to your email address; there is no password. Keep access to your inbox safe, because anyone who can open the link can sign in as you. One person per account, and the details you give must be true. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

What you share

When you share a GREP, you agree that it is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (CC BY 4.0): anyone may use, copy and adapt it, also commercially, as long as they credit you. Your name is shown with it.

You confirm that you have the right to share what you post, that it does not copy someone else's protected work without permission, and that your profile, links and photo are yours to publish.

Review and removal

GREPs are reviewed before they appear in the library; members we trust may publish directly. We may decline or take out any GREP, and hide or remove any profile, for example when it breaks these terms or a report shows a problem. Where we can, we tell you why by email.

Not allowed

• Spam, advertising or posts unrelated to InDesign and typesetting.
• Pretending to be someone else, or using someone else's name or photo.
• Links to harmful, deceptive or unsafe sites. Links listed as unsafe by Google Web Risk are hidden or refused.
• Content that is illegal, hateful or harassing, or that shares other people's personal data.
• Automated scraping that burdens the site, attacks, or attempts to get around limits and security checks.

GREPs come without a guarantee

GREPs in the library are shared by designers and are checked by hand, but a pattern that works in one document can change more, or less, than you expect in another. Always test a GREP on a copy of your document, check the result, and keep backups. You use every GREP and the script at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

The site and everything on it are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any damage, data loss or lost work that comes from using the site, the GREP Library or the script. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; for a significant change we tell signed-up members by email. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.
